Descrizione

5-Bromo-2-hydroxypyrimidine is a potent inhibitor of aldehyde oxidase, an enzyme that is involved in the production of reactive oxygen species. This drug has been shown to inhibit the growth of human liver cancer cells in vivo and exhibits cytotoxic effects on human leukemia cells. 5-Bromo-2-hydroxypyrimidine inhibits the activity of aldehyde oxidase by forming tautomers with a variety of different functional groups, including hydration, acid solutions, and inhibition activity. The tautomeric properties of 5-bromo-2-hydroxypyrimidine make it an effective inhibitor of aldehyde oxidase due to its ability to bind to various sites on the enzyme.
