Descrizione

5-(BOC-amino)-1-pentanol is an analogue of erythromycin. It can be used as a substrate for the synthesis of analogues that are active against bacteria. The amino group on 5-(BOC-amino)-1-pentanol interacts with the active site in the synthase, which is where the reaction takes place. The yields are increased by adding a small amount of an aminooxy to this molecule. This analogue has been shown to be active against bacteria and has been used as a lead compound for other analogues.
