The dry extract of this plant has been shown to have an inhibition potential on prostaglandin E2 levels, which are responsible for inflammation. 2-Benzylpiperidine can be used for palliative treatment of Alzheimer's disease by reducing amyloid beta plaque formation and preventing oxidative damage.
