Descrizione:1-Bromonaphthalen-2-ol is a kinetic anthelmintic drug that is effective against cestodes and trematodes. It is used to treat animal infections of the gastrointestinal tract. The sensitivity of 1-bromonaphthalen-2-ol to chloride ions was shown by a ternary complex assay in which the compound binds to a cavity formed by three groups of charged amino acids. The reaction yield was determined using cyclohexanol as an electron acceptor, and potentiodynamic polarization as a model system. Experimental models have been used to demonstrate the efficacy of 1-bromonaphthalen-2-ol against experimental models of nematode infection.
