Informazioni sul prodotto
- Benzaldehyde, 4-bromo-2-methoxy-
4-Bromo-2-methoxybenzaldehyde is a functional group. It has been shown that 4-bromo-2-methoxybenzaldehyde can be oxidized to form a variety of oxidation products, including halides and β-unsaturated ketones. It is also possible to alkylate this group with a variety of electron donors, such as alkanes, alcohols, amines, or thiols. The formylation reaction was the first organic reaction discovered and was used in the synthesis of colophony (a natural substance obtained from pine trees). This product is an acceptor for wittig reactions. Functional theory describes the molecular structure of formylation. Nature provides evidence for the production of colophony by formylation.
