Descrizione:Brominepentafluoride is a chemical compound that can be used in the synthesis of pharmaceutical compounds. It is a rare example of a binary fluorinating reagent that reacts with potassium dichromate to form bromine pentafluoride, chlorine pentafluoride, and hydrogen fluoride. Brominepentafluoride has been found to have an activation energy of 147 kJ/mol. The reaction was observed to follow first-order kinetics with respect to time and reactant concentration. Brominepentafluoride also has a kinetic energy of 0.38 eV at room temperature. Brominepentafluoride is stable at room temperature but decomposes at higher temperatures due to the loss of hydrogen fluoride from the molecule.
