Descrizione:2-Benzyl-piperazine is a pharmacological agent that has been shown to have anabolic effects in animals and humans. It is a crystalline solid with a molecular weight of 248.2 g/mol. 2-Benzyl-piperazine is used in the treatment of chronic renal failure, as well as the prevention of kidney stone formation in patients with recurrent calcium oxalate stones, or those who have experienced at least one episode of calcium oxalate stone formation. 2-Piperazine inhibits the activity of an enzyme called carbonic anhydrase, which is found in many tissues and facilitates reactions that produce bicarbonate ions from carbon dioxide and water molecules. The piperazine ring also has two methyl substituents, which can be modified to create bioisosteric analogues.
