Descrizione:2-Bromobutyrylchloride is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C5H9BrCl. It is used as an antimicrobial agent and has been shown to be effective against a number of bacteria, such as Escherichia coli. 2-Bromobutyrylchloride reacts with the hydroxyl group on the enzyme to form a chloride reaction product. This reaction inhibits the enzyme's ability to function in amino acid synthesis. The chloride ion can also react with methyl ethyl groups, which are part of monomers and functional groups in proteins, leading to irreversible changes in protein structure and function. 2-Bromobutyrylchloride has also been shown to have thermal stability up to 180 degrees Celsius.
