Descrizione:Butachlor is a herbicide that has been used to control weeds in agricultural crops, along with other uses. It is able to inhibit the activity of the enzyme acetyl-CoA carboxylase, which prevents the production of malonyl-CoA. This leads to an increase in malonyl-CoA levels, which inhibits fatty acid synthesis and causes cell death. Butachlor also has synergistic effects on ATP production and mitochondrial membrane potential, leading to increased toxicity. Butachlor has been shown to be toxic to the kidney bean, as well as other plants that are not susceptible to its chemical properties.
