4-Benzyloxycyclohexanone is a chemical compound that can be used in the preparation of amides. The compound also expands and stabilizes the C-terminal region of proteins, which is important for their function. 4-Benzyloxycyclohexanone has been used as a molecular modeling tool in designing new stereoselective synthetic routes. It was found that it could be used as an alkylation agent, with yields up to 90%. This compound can also be prepared by a chemo preparative method from cyclohexane ring with yields up to 70%.
