• Descrizione: DL-alaninol is a natural amino acid that is found in plant and animal tissues, including the human body. It is an intermediate in the biosynthesis of other amino acids, such as proline. DL-alaninol has been shown to be effective against depression and may have therapeutic properties for a number of other diseases. The pharmacological effects of DL-alaninol are due to its ability to inhibit certain enzymes, such as monoamine oxidase (MAO) and phosphodiesterase (PDE). DL-Alaninol binds to MAO, preventing it from breaking down neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine. This prevents these substances from being metabolized into inactive substances and prolongs their action on the brain. DL-Alaninol also increases levels of cAMP by inhibition of PDE which regulates intracellular levels of this compound.
