4-Bromobenzyl bromide is an analytical reagent that is used in the detection of cancer cells. It is a nucleophilic reagent that reacts with carboxylic acid to form an ester. 4-Bromobenzyl bromide can be used to hydrolyze malonic acid and react with chlorides, which are used as allosteric modulators in bacterial growth inhibition.
