Descrizione

N-Butyltrimethoxysilane is a reactive molecule that has been used as a catalyst in the synthesis of polymers and pharmaceuticals. It is also used in the production of coatings, adhesives, and sealants. N-Butyltrimethoxysilane is soluble in organic solvents such as trifluoroacetic acid and can be used for the preparation of solid catalysts. It reacts with hydrogen fluoride to produce hydrofluoric acid, but does not react with hydrogen gas or fatty acids. The chemical structure of N-butyltrimethoxysilane includes a hydroxyl group, which allows it to form hydrogen bonds with other molecules.
