Descrizione:3-Bromo-4-fluorophenol is a synthetic, water soluble, and stable compound with a variety of applications. It yields white crystals that are soluble in water, acetone, ethanol, ether, benzene, chloroform, and carbon tetrachloride. 3-Bromo-4-fluorophenol has been shown to have a number of structural modifications that may be advantageous for therapeutic purposes. The most prominent modification is the methylation of the phenolic hydroxyl group (functionalisation). This modification prevents the drug from reacting with nucleophilic sites on proteins and other biological molecules. 3-Bromo-4-fluorophenol interacts with methyltransferase enzymes in cancer cells to inhibit their activity. These methyltransferase enzymes are involved in cellular proliferation and proliferation signalling pathways that may lead to cancer cell death.
