3-Bromo-2-bromomethyl-propionic acid (3BrPA) is a synthetic molecule that has been used for the synthesis of organic compounds. 3BrPA has shown to be selective in reactions involving electron transfer and bond cleavage. This compound is also able to form covalent bonds with oxygen, nitrogen, and sulfur atoms, which makes it suitable for use in synthesizing heterocycles. 3BrPA can be used as a precursor for other molecules by introducing substituents at the 2 position.
