Descrizione:3-(2-Bromoacetyl)-2H-chromen-2-one is a compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of human liver cancer cells and has been used in the treatment of some cancers. 3-(2-Bromoacetyl)-2H-chromen-2-one is a nucleophile, which reacts with electrophiles, such as 2Nal, to form an intermediate covalent bond. The reaction mechanism for this process involves a nucleophilic substitution reaction, where one atom (the nucleophile) attacks another atom (the electrophile) from the side opposite its electron cloud. This process results in the formation of a covalent bond between the two atoms and the release of water. 3-(2-Bromoacetyl)-2H-chromen-2one was found to be effective against Streptococcus faecalis and other bacteria after being tested in vitro with these organisms.
