Descrizione

BMS 806 is a glycoprotein that is used as an anti-viral agent. It has been shown to inhibit the replication of both HIV and HCV, which are viruses that cause infectious diseases. BMS 806 inhibits viral life by binding to the surface glycoproteins and inhibiting viral entry into cells. The drug also inhibits viral replication by preventing DNA transcription and translation. BMS 806 has been shown to have a low level of toxicity in humans when administered for short periods, but long term toxicities are unknown. This drug has also been shown to be active against resistant mutants in cell culture experiments, which may be due to its ability to induce cell lysis through toll-like receptor 4 activation.
