Boc-D-proline methyl ester is a methyl ester of proline that is used in organic synthesis as a phosphoric acid catalyst. It has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of lipase and esterase, which are involved in the hydrolysis of carboxylic esters. This compound also shows anti-bacterial activity against bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of fatty acids and proteins by these microbes.
