3-Bromo-2-methoxy-pyridine (BMP) is a potent inhibitor of the phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase isoforms PI3Kδ and PI3Kγ. BMP has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo, as well as induce apoptosis by targeting the PI3K pathway. It also selectively inhibits PI3Kδ, which is a key enzyme in tumor cell survival. BMP has been shown to be more potent than idelalisib, an established anti-cancer drug that targets the same isoforms. This compound has also been found to have no side effects on healthy cells in vitro, making it a promising candidate for cancer treatment.
