Descrizione:Bis(trimethylsilyl)methane is an electron-stabilizing, polymeric reagent that has been shown to stabilize hexane. It can also be used as an acceptor in nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Bis(trimethylsilyl)methane can be synthesized from the reaction of a multinuclear molecule with a carbonyl group and an acid molecule, which then undergoes nucleophilic attack. It is activated by acidic conditions and reacts with nucleophilic molecules. The reactivity of bis(trimethylsilyl)methane is due to its carbonyl group and its acidic proton, which are both capable of accepting electrons.
