Descrizione:1-Bromohexadecane is a quaternary ammonium compound that has antimicrobial activity against bacteria and fungi. It is an effective inhibitor of the enzyme fatty acid synthase and induces membrane damage in Gram-positive bacteria. 1-Bromohexadecane also inhibits the production of virulence factors, such as metalloproteinases, which are involved in the pathogenesis of some infections. 1-Bromohexadecane can be used to treat microbial infections caused by E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans.
