Descrizione:2-Benzyloxyphenylacetic acid is a phenolic compound that has been shown to be an inhibitor of the enzyme borohydride reductase. The model studies on 2-benzyloxyphenylacetic acid were conducted in acidic and alkaline environments. The presence of buffers and other biomolecules did not affect the inhibition. 2-Benzyloxyphenylacetic acid was also found to be selective for the borohydride reductase enzyme, inhibiting it more than any other tested enzyme. This compound has been shown to inhibit the oxidation of dienones by 2-hydroxyphenylacetic acid, which may have implications in pharmaceutical applications.
