Descrizione:Sec-butyllithium is an organometallic compound that is used as a strong base in organic synthesis. It is soluble in nonpolar solvents such as cyclohexane, ethers, and petroleum ether. It reacts with water to form hydrogen gas and lithium hydroxide and is soluble in organic solvents. Sec-butyllithium has been shown to be effective for the synthesis of polymers from fatty acids.
