Informazioni sul prodotto
2,6-Bis(Chloromethyl)pyridine (BMP) is a molecule with two chlorine atoms that has been synthesized in the form of a crystalline solid. It has an asymmetric tetranuclear structure and consists of four chloride ions and two pyridine rings linked by hydrogen bonds. The molecule can be described as a chelate ring with coordination chemistry involving six ligands, including two water molecules. The crystal structures of BMP have been determined using x-ray diffraction. The vibrational spectra of the molecule have been studied from the ultraviolet to infrared regions. The thermal decomposition temperature of BMP is about 140°C at atmospheric pressure and it can be hydrolyzed by hydrochloric acid or metathesis reactions.
