4-[(4-Chlorobenzyl)oxy]benzaldehyde is a white solid compound with the chemical formula C8H7ClO. It is an aryl aldehyde that has been used in the synthesis of pyrazolones and other heterocycles. The conformation, molecular modelling, and chemical structures of this molecule have all been determined using computational chemistry techniques. This molecule has a hydrogen bond between the two carbonyl groups on its benzene ring. The acetylcholinesterase enzyme has also been shown to react with 4-[(4-chlorobenzyl)oxy]benzaldehyde, inhibiting acetylcholine esterase activity.
