Informazioni sul prodotto
4-Chloro-2-iodopyridine is a benzamide derivative that undergoes cyclization to form an amide. It can be used as a reagent for the synthesis of heterocyclic amines and intermediates in organic chemistry. 4-Chloro-2-iodopyridine can be prepared from benzoic acid and aniline via deprotonation with potassium tert-butoxide in ethanol followed by regioselective chlorination with phosphorus pentachloride. The regiospecificity of this reaction is due to the greater electrophilicity of the two chlorides in the 2 position, which allows for selective substitution at this site. 4-Chloro-2-iodopyridine has been shown to be a useful intermediate for the synthesis of several types of heterocyclic amines.
