Descrizione

Cratoxylone is a natural product that is isolated from the leaves of the plant family Annonaceae. Cratoxylone has been shown to have anticancer activity against human ovarian cancer cells, specifically targeting the enzyme phosphatase. The chemical structures and spectroscopic data analysis of cratoxylone have revealed that it contains tocotrienols and other compounds with anticancer properties. Cratoxylone has also been shown to inhibit the enzyme methionine adenosyltransferase (MAT). This inhibition may be responsible for its anti-cancer effects, as MAT is involved in the synthesis of polyamines, which are essential for cell proliferation.
