4-Chlorobenzoyl chloride (4ClBC) is an organic compound that has been used in the synthesis of new pharmaceuticals and as a chemical intermediate. 4ClBC is an asymmetric molecule that can be synthesized through a process called malonic acid synthesis. The reaction requires hydrochloric acid, hydrogen, and sodium carbonate. 4ClBC has shown antihypertensive activity in animal models. It also inhibits carcinoma cell lines and has been studied as a solid catalyst for hydrogen bonding interactions. This agent also has antimicrobial properties against bacteria such as staphylococcus and mycobacterium tuberculosis.
