Descrizione:Clethodim sulfone is a selective herbicide that inhibits the growth of plants by inhibiting photosynthesis. The compound is effective against a wide range of weeds, including rye, wheat, sorghum, oat, and corn. Clethodim sulfone inhibits the synthesis of proteins in plants by binding to the sulfur atom in cysteine residues in enzymes such as glutathione reductase and cytochrome P450. This binding prevents the activation of these enzymes and reduces the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which are responsible for cell death. Clethodim sulfone has been shown to be an effective herbicide for several plant species because it binds tightly to these sulfur atoms in cysteine residues. Clethodim sulfone can also be used as a fluorescent probe for validation purposes.
