Chlorodicyclohexylborane is also used as a catalyst for organic syntheses. Chlorodicyclohexylborane can be made by reacting borane with cyclohexene and hydrochloric acid. It can also be prepared by the reaction of trifluoroacetic acid with chlorosilanes.
