It is also used in the manufacture of glycol esters and other chemical products. C.I. pigment violet 32 can be manufactured by reacting hydrogen chloride with an amine to produce a glycol ester, which reacts with an aromatic hydrocarbon to form the dye. The synthesis of this synthetic dye requires radiation and heat as well as a polymerization initiator and primary amino compounds to form the final product.
