Descrizione:3-Chloro-1-butene is an organic compound that is used in the production of polychloroprene, a synthetic rubber. 3-Chloro-1-butene is synthesized by the chlorination of 1-butene using hydrochloric acid and chlorine gas. The reaction proceeds via a substitution reaction mechanism where the chlorine molecule replaces one hydrogen atom on the butene molecule. This type of substitution reaction is known as an eclipsing process because reactant and product molecules are in contact with each other for only a short period of time.
