Descrizione:(2-Chloroethyl)phosphonic acid (2-CEPA) is a phosphorus-containing molecule that functions as an inhibitor of the enzyme ATP synthase. It has been shown to have the ability to inhibit mitochondrial energy metabolism, which can lead to apoptosis in cells. 2-CEPA can also inhibit signal peptide processing, plant metabolism, and protein synthesis. The monosodium salt of 2-CEPA has been shown to have physiological effects on plants by inhibiting ethylene production and altering the water permeability of plant cell walls.
