Descrizione:Tryptophan is an amino acid that is an essential building block for proteins, neurotransmitters, and hormones. It is also a precursor for the synthesis of vitamin B3. 7-Chlorotryptophan has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria by inhibiting their ability to synthesize proteins by interfering with the covalent enzyme that controls the reaction mechanism in plants. Tryptophan may also have anti-inflammatory properties due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. The chlorinating and chloride groups on 7-chlorotryptophan are responsible for its bactericidal activity against Gram-positive bacteria.
