Descrizione

Cohumulone is a bitter acid found in hops, which are used as a flavoring and preservative agent in beer. It can be extracted from hops by boiling them in water. Cohumulone has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi and viruses. The extraction process can be done using liquid chromatography methods that use chemical ionization or sodium carbonate. The presence of cohumulone can be determined using analytical methods such as gas chromatography with chemical ionization detection (GC-CI) or high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection (HPLC-UV).
