Descrizione:3-Chloropivalic acid is a primary amino acid with a chemical formula of CH3ClO2. It is a colorless liquid soluble in most organic solvents. The molecule consists of three carbon atoms, six hydrogen atoms, and a chlorine atom. 3-Chloropivalic acid has been shown to inhibit the growth of certain bacteria by inhibiting the production of hydroxamic acids in the bacterial cell. It also inhibits the synthesis of proteins and nucleic acids (DNA and RNA), leading to cell death by inhibition of protein synthesis or DNA replication, respectively. 3-Chloropivalic acid has been shown to be effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella typhimurium, Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli O157:H7, and Clostridium tetani.
