Choline hydroxide is a complex enzyme that is composed of choline and hydroxide. It is used as a reaction solution in combination preparations with other enzymes, such as calcium pantothenate and polymerase chain. Choline hydroxide has been shown to have antioxidant properties, which may be due to its ability to interact with free radicals or reactive oxygen species (ROS). It also increases the activity of antioxidant enzymes. Choline hydroxide has been used in the treatment of atherosclerotic lesions in animal models, and can inhibit lipid peroxidation.
