Descrizione:Cloxacillin is a semi-synthetic penicillin antibiotic that inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. Cloxacillin is used in the treatment of streptococcal pharyngitis and other infections caused by bacteria susceptible to this drug. Cloxacillin has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth in vitro with therapeutic concentrations of sodium salts and benzalkonium chloride. This medication has also been shown to be effective against erythromycin-resistant strains of S. pneumoniae.
