Descrizione:4-Chloro-6-nitrosoresorcinol (4CN) is a metabolite of chlorzoxazone. It is an anti-inflammatory drug that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and other inflammatory disorders. 4CN inhibits prostaglandin synthesis by competitively inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase. It also has a strong inhibitory effect on leukotriene synthesis by competitive inhibition of 5-lipoxygenase. This drug is metabolized to 6-hydroxychlorzoxazone, which has analgesic and antipyretic effects.
