Descrizione:4-Chlorodehydromethyltestosterone is a synthetic androgen that was developed to replace testosterone in hormone replacement therapy. It has been studied for its toxicity in rats, mice, and guinea pigs. The most toxic effects are on the liver and kidneys. In these tissues, 4-chlorodehydromethyltestosterone may cause fatty degeneration by interfering with oxygen transport or by causing mitochondrial cytochrome P450 dysfunction. Chronic exposure to 4-chlorodehydromethyltestosterone leads to a reduction in the number of proximal tubules in the kidney, which can lead to renal failure.
