Descrizione:Carnosic acid is a natural compound that has inhibitory properties and has been shown to act as a pro-apoptotic protein. One study found that carnosic acid was able to inhibit the multidrug efflux pump, which is an important mechanism of resistance in many bacterial species. Carnosic acid also showed strong binding activity with human serum albumin. Carnosic acid has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, reducing the production of MMP-9 and preventing kidney fibrosis in mice. This pro-apoptotic compound may be useful in treating oral pathogens, such as Streptococcus mutans, and may have potential for treating human cancers.
