Descrizione:5-Chloro-2-nitrophenol is a nucleophilic compound that is used to treat bladder infections. 5-Chloro-2-nitrophenol is metabolized in the urine by microbial metabolism, which results in the formation of reaction products. The chloride ion binds to the nitro group, forming a chlorinated phenoxy radical intermediate. This intermediate reacts with hydrogen peroxide and produces hydrochloric acid and 2,5-dichlorophenol. The hydrochloric acid then reacts with 2,5 dichlorophenol to form 2,5 dichlorohydroquinone and chloride ions.
