• Descrizione: Cumene hydroperoxide is an enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of cumene to p-hydroxybenzoic acid. Cumene hydroperoxide is used in analytical methods for determining the concentration of cumene in a reaction solution. The wild-type strain of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae was used to investigate the effects of this enzyme on cell viability, enzyme activities, and chemiluminescence. A cyclase inhibitor and antioxidant vitamins were added to study their effects on the activity of this enzyme. Cumene hydroperoxide has been shown to be a potential treatment for Candida glabrata infections.
