Descrizione:Cefetamet pivoxyl is a cephalosporin antibiotic and has bactericidal activity against many gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit by inhibiting protein synthesis. Cefetamet pivoxyl is effective in the treatment of urinary infections, acute maxillary sinusitis, chronic bronchitis, and other infectious diseases caused by susceptible germs. The drug is also used as an antimicrobial agent for prophylaxis during surgery, especially in the case of high risk patients or those who have been exposed to infections. Cefetamet pivoxyl can be administered orally or intravenously and exhibits bactericidal activity against many gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
