The reaction of calcium isopropoxide with magnesium yields magnesium isopropoxide. Calcium isopropoxide reacts with tyrosine to form calcium tyrosinate. This compound can also be used as an additive in the manufacture of coatings and paints. The thermal expansion coefficient of this compound at room temperature is 2.6x10^-5 K^-1.
