3-Chloro-2-hydrazinopyridine is a synthetic organic compound that belongs to the group of maleates. It is a biochemical agent with anticancer activity. 3-Chloro-2-hydrazinopyridine has been shown to inhibit protein synthesis and induce apoptosis in lepidoptera, such as Drosophila melanogaster, due to its ability to form hydrogen bonds with anthranilic acid and the lepidopteran ryanodine receptor. This drug also inhibits inflammation by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis through its chloride anion.
