Descrizione:5-Chloro-2-methylpyridine is a pyrrole with antitumor activity. It has been shown to be more efficient than other analogues and may be an optimized antitumor agent. 5-Chloro-2-methylpyridine inhibits the growth of tumor cells by binding to the pyrrole ring, which prevents DNA replication and transcription. This drug also binds to metal ions such as lithium and zinc, which leads to a decrease in DNA synthesis and protein synthesis. 5-Chloro-2-methylpyridine has been shown to have potent antitumor activity against several types of cancer cell lines, but not against normal cells.
