Descrizione:1,1-Cyclobutanedicarboxylic acid is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of carboxylates. It is a white crystalline solid with an acidic taste. 1,1-Cyclobutanedicarboxylic acid can be synthesized from malonic acid and cyclobutanone in the presence of a strong base. It also has been shown to have anti-cancer properties in cervical cancer cells in vitro. This substance inhibits the growth of cancer cells by binding to copper ions and forming an acid complex that inhibits DNA synthesis. 1,1-Cyclobutanedicarboxylic acid has also been shown to inhibit human serum albumin (HSA) and copper binding which may lead to decreased copper availability for enzymes involved in oxidative stress pathways.
