Descrizione

2-Chlorophenyl phosphorodichloridate is not sensitive to light or heat, and has a low volatility. It is soluble in organic solvents such as benzene, chloroform, and acetone. 2-Chlorophenyl phosphorodichloridate binds to fatty acids in the mitochondrial membrane and blocks the transport of phosphate groups from ATP. This leads to a decrease in ATP levels, which can lead to cell death. 2-Chlorophenyl phosphorodichloridate is also used as an antiviral agent against influenza virus because it inhibits viral RNA synthesis by binding to nucleotides. 2-Chlorophenyl phosphorodichloridate also interacts with DNA at the hydroxyl group or the benzyl groups on its phosphorus atom, and these reactions are facilitated by sulfur transfer reactions at high temperatures.
