Descrizione:Clonidine is an adrenergic receptor agonist that also inhibits the release of norepinephrine. It has been shown to have significant clinical relevance as a topical analgesic and anti-hypertensive agent. Clonidine has been shown to be effective in reducing pain in animal models, although it does not appear to be an effective analgesic for psychiatric patients. Clonidine is able to inhibit the release of fatty acids from adipose tissue and is used in the analysis of fatty acid content in biological samples.
